About the Role
The core responsibility of the International Commodity Trader is business development. Through building customer and vendor relationships, this position will work to expand Sure Good Foods' international trading volumes across 70+ countries. You will manage complex cross-border transactions for proteins including pork, beef, poultry, and seafood.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain international customer and vendor relationships
- Manage cross-border commodity trades from negotiation to delivery
- Analyze global market conditions and pricing trends
- Navigate international trade regulations and compliance requirements
- Work with logistics team on shipping, documentation, and customs
- Develop new market opportunities in emerging regions
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in international food trading or commodity sales
- Knowledge of global protein markets and trade flows
- Strong negotiation and cross-cultural communication skills
- Familiarity with letters of credit, Incoterms, and trade finance
- Ability to work across multiple time zones
- Bachelor's degree in Business, International Trade, or related field
Nice to Have
- Multilingual capabilities (Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic, or other languages)
- Experience trading in Asian, Middle Eastern, or Latin American markets
- Existing international food industry network
