About the Role
The core responsibility of the North American Commodity Trader is business development. Through building customer and vendor relationships, this position will work to expand Sure Good Foods' presence across North American markets. You will manage the full trade cycle — from sourcing and negotiation to contract execution — for proteins, produce, and ingredients.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a portfolio of North American customer and vendor accounts
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and trade terms
- Monitor commodity market trends and identify opportunities
- Coordinate with logistics and finance teams to ensure smooth execution
- Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets
- Attend industry trade shows and conferences
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in commodity trading, food sales, or related field
- Strong understanding of North American protein or produce markets
- Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Agriculture, or related field
Nice to Have
- Existing network of food industry contacts in North America
- Experience with Incoterms and international trade documentation
- French language proficiency
